Becoming Your Best Self - Walk Your Inner Dog

Becoming Your Best Self - Walk Your Inner Dog
By Louise Kaelin
A number of years ago, before the spate of current "find your inner xxx" invitations so popular now, I saw an ad for a product that asked me to "Walk My Inner Dog". While I've long since forgotten the product, I never forgot the ad.

For some reason, the concept of walking my inner dog kept coming back to grab me. It would enter my thoughts for no reason that I could determine and (like a dog) yapped at me until I thought about it. In fact, the more I process the idea, the more it excited me. So.. what would it look and feel like to walk my inner dog?

This is what I think would happen: I'd sniff and scratch everything. I'd have my ears up and would listen to eveyrthing. I would wag my tail and pull my owner forward. I would dig holes and bury bones for the pure joy of digging them up again. I would bark and growl at anything that makes me (or my owner) feel threatened. I would jump up and down, and run circles around my owner. I would fetch anything he/she threw and return it back to him/her.

What a delightful picture and feeling inside when I think of viewing life this way! So, next time I take a walk, I'm going to imagine I'm walking my inner dog and enjoy all the sights, smells and sensations of being fully alive!

I hope you'll be inspired as well to do the same. But, whatever you do, please don't lift your leg at any fire hydrants you come across!

Tips to Get You Motivated
By Tom Birkenmeyer
Knowing what to do is the first step. If you don't know what to do you need to learn. There is nothing more frustrating than getting busy without any direction or results. You must be confident in knowing that the means of getting from the body you have now to the body you want is going to work. That alone is motivating but it may not be enough. Sometimes there is a gap between knowing what to do and then doing it.

Taking the focus off of yourself and on someone else is motivating. Encouraging others to succeed will give you a boost especially if they reciprocate. Helping others is a powerful human desire that makes us feel good about ourselves and should be harnessed for our own motivation.

You may just be beginning a fitness program in my team and have not experienced any results first hand yet. Observe and absorb the many documented stories of proof that what you are doing does indeed work. You can build your belief on that for endless sources of motivation. There are literally thousands of videos, stories, and other forms of documentation that proves what you are doing is working. Just ask me about it! I can shower you with so many powerful inspirational success stories you won't believe it.

You must know that you are not alone. No one wants to be isolated. In the context of self doubt, health and fitness you are NOT alone. Everyone has been there at one time or another and their are ALWAYS going to be people who are just starting out just like you. Some people will loathe in self doubt and let it consume then, others will reach out to people who make them feel good for help and then do wondrous things and transform into a pillar of inspiration themselves for others who are where they once were, looking for help in their own transformations. It's a cycle that keeps on giving and transforming lives. To be part of a TEAM of people who stand each other up to succeed TOGETHER is very motivating if you allow it to be. The energy and pure excitement you find in my Teams online Virtual Gym, the Club, the Interactive message forums and other mediums is world class and allows more support and closer connections to other like minded people. Many, MANY life long friendships and sources of accountabilities have been founded in these interactions. If you are looking for more motivation this will launch you to new motivation.

Your legacy can and must be used as a source of motivation. When you embrace the simple fact that everything you do and say (negative or positive) has an impact on others FOREVER, your motivation to succeed will go through the roof! Step up! Take hold of your life! YOU have the power to create PERSONAL AND GENERATIONAL HEALTH!

As your coach I will do everything I can to help you achieve your goals. Write me freely at metal_palace@yahoo.com or on Facebook (you can find me by my email address), or on Myspace at myspace.com/metal_palace. You must be willing to reach out for help. How to Motivate Yourself and Achieve More
By Chris Ronson
How many times have you thought to yourself "If only had the motivation to do that"? This is a common thought that people have about the multitude of different subjects such as losing weight, getting a better job, training for a new career, mastering a new sport - the list goes on. Unfortunately there is no magic wand that you can wave that will suddenly make you a more motivated and determined person, but there are things you can do to motivate yourself that you achieve your goals, but it will take time and practice.

The first crucial step to motivation is to be able to see and know exactly what you want to achieve. Next you need to then need to focus on your goal and be aware that you will do anything to accomplish it. Writing your goal down can sometimes be a good way of keeping it in your mind and being able to keep your motivation running high. Whenever you feel that your motivation is starting to lag you need to go back and reaffirm to yourself exactly what your goal is and why you want to achieve it so badly.

When you are truly motivated you will find that you don't have to do this is often and that motivation must become second nature to you. As it happens you will find that focusing on and achieving your goals becomes much easier as you are more single-minded and determined about what it is that you want to achieve.

Motivation and Improving Focus
By Jennie Gandhi
Goals are essential for all of us. An agenda in life helps us direct our energy and stamina towards realizing a goal. Career goals need to have a self motivated effect. There are many perks and hand holding offered by corporate houses in backing their team. The team leader has to have a high level of objectivity with daily goals that go on to realize the main goal as laid by the corporate achievements.

Focus again is important. Distractions lead us to nowhere. For a student the goal of academics has to be sought with lot of determination. Though breaks are essential to alter the seriousness of any situation, the effort should not be diluted. Academics are getting competitive and children should be motivated by peers and heed the guidance of teachers. Corporate goals are about a company's targets. Targets relate to the standing of the company in economic circle and also are about reputation.

Concentration is required even in sports. If you need to achieve the goal for your foot ball team then practicing is very important. Irrespective of any hindrances it becomes important to reach the finishing line first for an athlete. Games are the best way to understand goals. A good coach helps you to fine tune your demerits and also coaches you to be a winner.

For leading a team one has to be highly motivated. Motivation comes from inspiration. We can be inspired by our parents, our grandpa or also peers in the office. There is no substitute for hard work. Losing focus will only take us to the downturn and hence we must minimize all sorts of distractions. A simple sense of motivation can be realized when a toddler stumbles during his first steps and braces again to take another step. For motivation self esteem should be improved.

A clear thought process leads us towards realizing our goals. There is a lot of homework, research and also guidance seeking that enhances our skills. Motivation when we have a satisfaction within us. Scope for improvement and acknowledging loop holes is also conducive for improving focus.

3 Ways to Beat Procrastination
By Alex Fayle
The idea of procrastination doesn't exist in every language. For example there's no word for it in Spanish or German and in many other languages the translation has more of a connotation of delaying.

In English culture we consider procrastination the eighth deadly sin. Procrastinators laze about wasting precious time. They're Drama Queens who prefer the hare's adrenaline high of rushing at the last minute over the steady pace of the tortoise slowly moving towards the finish line.

We raise procrastination up to the level of insurmountable barrier so that it becomes more of a character flaw than anything we have control over.

It's time to kill that theory. We can all beat procrastination and kill the guilt it makes us feel with three simple steps.

1. Choose something you like to do

This sounds simple, and yet how many people do you know (including yourself) who have a list of tasks an arm long of things they "have to" do? Yes, we don't have to like everything we do, but if you get up in the morning and dread your day, what kind of life are you living? Really, you're not living at all. You're just existing.

Want to bounce out of bed every day? Find something you love to do and pursue the crap out of it. Life's too short to hate getting up in the morning.

2. Start with something small

Do you worship your goals? Do you create plans and visualize the perfect outcome? Do you gold-plate your dreams then set them up on marble pedestals? If you do, then you probably also sacrifice any significant actions that take you closer to the dream. Don't worship your goals - simply act on them.

And the easiest way is to start with something small. Right now ask yourself what one thing you could do to take you one micro-step closer to your dream. Don't think about anything else. And then when you've completed that, ask yourself "what next?"

And step by step your dream will become a reality instead of remaining an object of worship.

3. Let yourself be afraid

Fear of failure keeps us from moving forward, but fear of stagnating pushes us from behind. We therefore are trapped between two fears. We all live in fear - it's hardwired into our bodies.

Therefore, why not embrace your fears? Accept them and use them. Fear failure? Then consider not moving forward the biggest kind of failure in existence as a way to motivate yourself out of your rut. Fear rejection? Then think of the disappointment others and yourself will feel if you never act on your dreams.

Most of us believe that fear is bad and that we should beat, destroy or sneak our way around fear. I say look fear directly in the eye and use its messages to achieve what you want out of life.

Procrastination isn't a deadly sin and if you do procrastinate you're not a bad person. But if you want to achieve your dreams, you don't want to live waiting to get around to things.

Be Spanish or be German and forget that the word even exists.

Are you stuck in a life you don't enjoy? Have you lost touch with your dreams? Have you *settled* for a daily routine that leaves you longing for a different life?

It's time for a change.
