Too Much Attention on Yourself Can Cause Stress
By Christyn Young
Not all stresses are caused by too much work. It can also arise by doing nothing at all. Sounds confusing? How would you feel if someone is keeping an eye on you? You are like in a fish bowl. You have lost your privacy. Everything you do or everywhere you go will be monitored. How relax can you be in that kind of situation?

It is nice to get some attention from your loved ones. It shows that they care. But getting too much attention can be stressful. My dad is the type who does not like attention. He is independent and takes care of us, love us unconditionally. He provided food, shelter and education to us, even though he is not earning much. He has never complained about the hardship that he has to go through.

Although he works hard, he never had any major sickness nor admitted in hospital. Unfortunately, he had a brain stroke (aneurysm) recently. Aneurysm is caused by pressure. Pressure is caused by stress. Everybody was so worried about him and have been paying extra attention to him since then. Being someone who dislike attention, my dad find this very stressing.

We monitor his daily food intake. We control what he eats and how much he eats. We keep reminding him to take his medications. Friends and relatives keep asking about his well being. He no longer has his freedom as we forbid him to drive.

We want to make sure my dad's pressure is under control but all the attention given doesn't help at all. He often gets irritated and is always grumpy. He has low self-esteem as he feel useless after the operation. These are the signs of stress.

Stress can lead to serious illness. We may also develop anxiety disorder. What is anxiety disorder? Have you experienced having cold sweaty palms, tightness in chest and throat, rapid heartbeat as if you are having heart attack? Not many people is aware about anxiety disorder. By Lauren S Johnson
Everyone has heard about the common ways of reducing stress. Some of the most utilized approaches include: talking to a friend, exercising, listening to soothing music, and incorporating various breathing techniques during a moment of tension. However, in this article I will list three tips which are uncommon and very effective at reducing the effects of tension.

1. Proudly exhibit exciting moments. This is something that a lot of people don't know about. It is really easy to do and it can truly reduce the effects of stress. For instance, let's say that you went on a vacation a couple years ago and you had the time of your life. Blow up one of the pictures from that particular trip and proudly frame it and display it on the wall. Having many fun reminders such as this one, scattered all over your house, can help you escape to a less stressful time in your life. It can even help you have a more positive outlook on life. You can also bring this treasured times with you to the office to brighten up your days.
2. Give someone a compliment. This is also an unknown approach to stress reduction. When you pay someone a compliment you make a warm, personal connection which helps you body release some of the stress inducing tension.
3. Have something to look forward to. Remember when you were a kid and you were excited about so many things. For instance if your birthday was coming up that was all you could talk about and think about. Try the same approach now. Plan a weekend getaway or even a one day shopping trip at your favorite mall. This will help your mind concentrate on something other than tension.

Certain all natural herbal remedies such as sleep aids and hoodia pills can also help you battle some of the known effects of tension (such as sleepless nights and fluctuating weight).

11 Tips That Reduce the Effects of Stress
By Lauren S Johnson
Stress can have an adverse effect upon our health and our overall well-being. People who suffer from stress are prone to sleepless nights, poor appetite, weight-fluctuations, and various diseases. A recent study shows that close to ninety percent of doctor visits are driven by stress related symptoms. In this article I will list eleven tips which help battle the main causes and symptoms of this common culprit.

1. Listen to relaxing music (classical music is most effective).
2. Exercise at least thirty minutes each day (choose an activity you enjoy).
3. Call a friend (talking about your problems takes away a lot of your stress).
4. Be sure that your office is equipped with an incandescent bulb (which closely resembles outdoor lighting).
5. Pamper your body (something as simple as a pedicure can reduce your blood pressure and put your mind at ease).
6. Dine by candlelight. The dim setting signals your body to release melatonin (a hormone which can improve your sleep).
7. Snuggle with your significant other. Even 20 minutes of snuggling in your loved ones arms can increase your endorphin levels.
8. Write in a journal. Writing down your stressful thoughts can help you look at them more logically.
9. Have something to look forward to. When you are anticipating something fun and exciting you are freeing your mind from stress. Plan an exciting shopping trip or a mini vacation every now and then.
10. Exhibit things that make you happy. If you had the best time of your life on your last vacation, blow up the photo and frame it. Glancing at that visual reminder daily can help you win the battle with stress.
11. Give someone a compliment. A personal connection such as this one puts you in a warmer state of mind which in return reduces your stress levels.

Various all natural herbal remedies, such as sleep aids and diet pills can also help you combat the symptoms associated with stress.
