Stress Relief - 7 Great Ways to Use Pictures to Relieve Stress
By Ellen R. Norman
We are very visual people. Our sight seems to be connected to our emotions. Everyone uses this influence as a part of our daily interactions. Most of the things we see can and does stress us. There are options and alternatives I am happy to say.
1) An excellent place to put pictures that are uplifting, calming and relaxing is on your refrigerator. Pick pictures that are colorful, have a short message on them. Moms do this with children's school pictures.
2) Another good place for fun and relaxing pictures is on your desk or wall at work. You can change these pictures frequently as well to discourage boredom or to bring the out doors in.
3) Small pictures of vacation places (real or imagined) loved ones, or pictures with affirmations work well posted on the drivers side of the care or near your vanity mirror. This helps to calm you while you are in traffic.
4) It is great have a motivating picture on your bathroom mirror. Choose a sunrise, a vacation spot, or plants and flowers this will help to energize your day and in the evening prepare you for sleep.
5) Making your own calendar pictures is a good use of family photos or special pet pictures. You can also try Christmas or winter pictures for July and August. This will give new meaning to your month.
6) A lot of women enjoy making scrapbooks. Use calm, relaxed scenery. Seascapes, sunrises or sunsets, as little scrapbooks you can have close by to look at while you are waiting in line or at an appointment. This reduces stress and keeps your thoughts on more pleasant things.
7) Lastly an extremely powerful idea is to use positive calming pictures as screen savers on your PC or Laptop, and on your cell phone. This gives a continuous changing array of visual relaxation to calm your mind and body. All these ideas will help receive stress and quiet your emotions. They are no or low cost and will spark your creativity.

It seems like everybody is always dealing with some form of stress. Whether it is from work, relationships, financial, or something else, people's lives are filled with plenty of things to cause stress.
With so much stress in people's life, they need to learn how to relax and release some of their stress. Even taking a ten to fifteen minute break from your hectic schedule can do wonders for your stress levels.
Here are some great tips so you can relax effectively.
1. Let Go of The Tension
Try to find some time for yourself during the day. If you sit down, relax, and not do anything for a few minutes can be a huge relief and can be great for your stress levels. When you decide to take a break, forget about all your troubles until your break is over and try to fully relax.
2. Don't Do Too Much Thinking
If you're thinking about what you have to do after your break, it does not really count as taking a break. If you are thinking about stressful things, you will not be relaxed. Next time, try to think about things you like, or try to read a romance novel or entertainment magazine. Also, games and watching television also works.
3. Do Not Do Errands During Your Break
The purpose of taking a break is to give you time to relax and energize yourself for the rest of the day. If you spend time during your break doing errands, you do not give yourself a moment to relax and release stress.
