Don't take rejection personally. It's inevitable that you will not get job lowongan offers for positions that you've applied for or where you've had your 5th interview and it seemed a done deal. The position may have already been filled - or a person with a better matched skill set was selected. Consider a 'no' as one step closer to your ideal job lowongan. Transform a rejection to motivate you. If you wear your rejection on your sleeves - it will manifest itself in your character and behavior and will certainly hinder your job search progress.
Make Time For Yourself & De-Stress. Recharge your batteries and clear your mind. Read a good book or getaway for the weekend. Get some exercise to give you more energy - and improve your health and mind. Take classes or seminars on a topic you are interested in. Recharging your batteries will result in benefits not only during your job lowongan search - but also for the longer term on a personal level.
Stay Motivated & Optimistic. Job lowongan searching is challenging and it's easy to slack off and get de-motivated when things are tough lowongan. Staying motivated requires determination and conscious effort. Start each day on a upbeat tempo by doing something that puts in a lowongan good mood. Listen to your favorite music, enjoy a good cup of coffee, or go for a morning walk or jog. Then have a schedule that you stick to. A schedule will help you from being bored or feeling lost. However, remember not to make busy work. A schedule will also help you focus and be more productive.
Be persistent, take action. Don't wait for things to happen - make them happen! Take charge and accept responsibility for your job search. You are the key driver in your job search. Do not rely or family, friends, colleagues to find you a job lowongan. This is a passive waiting game. Your job lowongan search will end sooner if you are proactive.
Enjoy & learn from the process. This is a time for exploring new opportunities and further self-development. Reassess yourself, your goals, your core desires... Enrich yourself with new contacts and new friendships. Investigate different areas of interests which may lead you along paths you never imagined.

Start a New Career

After coaching hundreds of people on how to break free from the corporate world, I have created 7 fundamental practices to help you successfully start a new career. I share them with you here.

1. Center Yourself
When you are trying to start a new career, you may encounter inner resistance and self-doubt. Before self-talk sabotages your dreams, learn to disconnect from your negative thought patterns. I recommend centering throughout the day to help you be a kind and patient observer of your thoughts. Learning to center will help you to stay positive and relaxed. Meditation, walks at lunchtime, yoga, and focused breathing can help you to stay centered throughout the day.

2. Focus on the Positive
Television broadcasters, newspapers, and magazines make their money on advertising. They sell advertising by focusing on the negative and what is not working in the world. Turn off your TV. Stop reading newspapers and news magazines. Surround yourself with positive people. Read autobiographies of people you admire and who have overcome adversity. If you pay attention to negative thoughts and events, you will attract negativity into your life. Stay focused on the positive.

3. Live from purpose and commitment
Do you have a personal mission statement? What is your purpose in life? Does your work forward that purpose? Spend some moments on reflection and create inspiring and exciting purpose and mission statements for yourself.

4. Perform essential actions that are on-purpose
If you are living from purpose and commitment, then it is much easier to stay focused on essential actions that will further your purpose and to eliminate actions that don't help you to achieve your purpose. 5. Have the courage to live your truth Many people waste time avoiding negative consequences instead of pursuing possibilities. Pursuing possibilities takes courage. Our definition of courage is staying true to your values no matter who disagrees. It also means being open to the world, not closed in a loop of habitual thinking and behavior. 6. Jealously Guard your Energy

Evaluate all of the relationships and activities in your life based upon whether they give you energy or take your energy. Eliminate activities that take your energy. Eliminate negative people. Try to shift relationships that take your energy or limit your exposure to these people. To start a new career takes lots of energy. Jealously guard your energy during this critical time and eliminate all energy vampires.

7. Be grateful
I believe that we have all chosen to be here in this physical world. Our non-physical being chose to manifest here and now. And every day that you walk on this earth is a miracle. Count your blessings. If you find yourself in despair or unable to get out of a funk, start keeping a gratitude journal. Every evening before you go to sleep, spend some time counting your blessings. What are you grateful for in your life? You can do this as a mental exercise or you can start keeping a gratitude journal. Every day, write down five things that you are grateful for. You might be surprised by how abundant your life really is.***

Freelance Writer

How Much Are Men Spending on Grooming Products? More Than You Think. More men are frequenting spas, undergoing cosmetic surgery and buying new lines of grooming products in drugstores. The three-day beard look is definitely out, as is drawing the line at a neat hairstyle and some aftershave. While that approach is both simple and inexpensive, the escalating importance of appearance in the current social and business climate has created the new "metrosexual" man.

As currently defined, "metrosexual" is not one, but a range of attitudes about male appearance, and looking sharp and clean-cut is the goal. Though some veer left, others right - when it comes to right down to it, everyone is on the same page. Good-looking skin, hair and nails are essential, both in business and in attracting the opposite sex. Investing in the Bottom Line Recognition is growing that paying attention to grooming products may simply be a wise investment, and that it's not easy to keep up with women who utilize every method under the sun to stay looking young and attractive as long as possible.

According to Drug Store News, "men have become more aware," and they're spending more than $1 billion annually on their appearance. Manufacturers of personal care products have also become more aware, offering Nivea for Men, Gillette Complete Skincare, and a new Clearasil line extension just for young men. Eye Cream for Men? Unthinkable No Longer The "average Joe" is even dabbling in tinted moisturizers, eye creams and hair treatments, such as XCD s Improver Tinted Moisturizer and Reviver Eye Cream, and Vogue International's Ego Trip and Not For Girls haircare. Accordingly, chains such as CVS and Rite Aid are making room to expand space devoted exclusively to men.

Even Toenails Get Scrutiny

An article in the August 13, 2004, Wall Street Journal quoted one male professional as saying "I prefer open-toe, but I would probably wear socks with them in public. Otherwise, you have to prepare your toes." This puts a whole new spin on the saying, Be prepared !

The widespread popularity of sandals has also created a greater demand for pedicures and foot grooming products. Just as men notice women's feet, women are giving men a head-to-toe scrutiny, and flip-flops or Birkenstocks won t hide any toenail or dry, cracked heel problems. Carol Buck, CEO of Xenna Corporation says young and middle-aged men are very becoming very self-conscious about discolored toenails women can polish them, but men have no way to hide the problem. "Some men are so embarrassed they not only won t wear sandals, but stay away from the beach or pool scene, she says. Xenna's addresses the problem of embarrassing nails and feet with its NonyX Nail Gel, an exfoliant of nail-yellowing keratin debris, and Callex Callus Ointment for flaking or cracked heels and foot calluses.

Metallica Metaphorphosis

While a few of the Hollywood types may still aim for a Marlboro Man image, it appears that metrosexual products are here to stay. After viewing himself in the documentary "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster," guitarist Kirk Hammett was quoted by Time Magazine as saying he wished he had "spent a little more time in the grooming department." With drugstores now full of male-oriented products, he s not alone, and solutions are right down the street. ***

Resume Falsification

How many times have you heard someone say, "Just put it on your resume. There's no way they're going to find out"? It is tempting to put little white lies on your resume. These might include overstating your knowledge of required software "If they call me, I'll teach myself over the weekend", a certification "They'll never go through all that trouble to find out") or extending dates at a former employer "They can't find out. The company went out of business".

So what's the big deal? It's not like you're claiming to be a medical doctor, right? Who are you hurting anyway? You're just stretching the truth a little to get your foot in the door -- or so you tell yourself. If these are familiar thoughts, you might want to re-think them.

Why? Because the risk of getting caught is real. The odds of getting away with listing false information on your resume are probably, well . . . who really knows? Do you really want to find out the hard way?

There are many reasons that could prompt a human resources manager to conduct an employment background check. Maybe you are not performing your job as well as expected. Maybe a co-worker has the same credential and became suspicious when your facts did not add up during a conversation.

Some companies have never experienced a dishonest employee who lied on his/her resume, and does not routinely verify work histories and the validity of credentials. In short, they have a false sense of security. Just the same, many hiring managers are keenly aware that lying on a resume is becoming a costly problem for many companies, and thoroughly check all facts even after they hire a candidate. Sadly, it is quite common these days to learn of employee terminations because background checks revealed dishonesty.

Depending on the level of the position or the severity of the falsification, this could sometimes lead to legal actions. So, before you decide to make yourself look better on paper, think again. It is not worth getting the job if you are not going to be able to live up to it or hold on to it. The moral of this story? Don't risk your future by lying about your past! Honesty is always the best policy***

How and when did you get started as a writer?

I always wrote as a child letters to friends and poems, but never thought of myself as a writer until receiving an A on an essay in college. I m a late bloomer and didn t become a newspaper reporter until almost age 40. How do you usually find your ideas?

Truthfully, I always had trouble coming up with the fresh ideas sought by magazine editors. My first book, Catskills Alive, was conceived during a trip to the Catskills with my husband. We stayed at an inn near the Delaware River and I could not get over its beauty and lack of tourism. I thought What is wrong with this picture? and decided to write a guidebook to the whole region. That was my first "fresh idea."

Did you ever get any rejections? If yes, how did you react to them? Funny question. What author has not gotten rejections - enough to paper the walls? In the early days, it really hurt because I always took it personally. Since doing the newsletter and reading how some authors cope with rejection by shrugging it off, I ve gotten better about it. If I really believe in my project, I ll never give up.

Tell us about your books. What was your first one? Catskills Alive was published in 2000 and the second edition in 2003. Long Island Alive came out in 2003. Both were published by Hunter Publishing. Book Marketing from A-Z was published in March 2005.

What inspired you to write this book? I started Book Promotion Newsletter in March 2003 because I was hungry for information on ways to promote my guidebooks. There was little available for authors. Two years later with nearly 1500 subscribers, I had enough material for a book and Book Marketing from A-Z was published in March 2005 by Infinity Publishing. Each new subscriber receives a questionnaire to complete, which has provided the fodder for both the newsletter and the book.

How long did it take you to write it? It took a few months to compile the material and place each anecdote in its proper category.

What are the major challenges that you have faced in your career? As I said, coming up with fresh ideas posed the greatest hurdle as a freelancer. Finding publishers was relatively easy in comparison.

Has the Internet helped you in your writing career? How? The Internet has turned my life around. I often joke that my next book will be entitled, My Life on Line. Without the Internet, I would not have the newsletter and thousands of supportive subscribers.

What do you advise new writers to do?

New writers should learn the market. Read Writer s Digest Magazine, take classes, network with other authors, and create a niche. Then buy a copy of Book Marketing from A-Z for a jump start on promotion. ***

Career planning necessary to work out

Career planning is one of those things you don t learn about in school but what decisions you make with your career affect your future in more ways than one. No matter what choices you make regarding your career, make sure you have it worked out before you step into any interviews. Your interview is your prospective employer s first impression of you. How you sell yourself career wise is how your employer will see you for the duration of your employment with him or her. Don t sabotage your own career.

Don t be unprepared for the interview question, So where do you want to be in 5 years. Here are some of the ways that decisions regarding your career affect you:
You salary depends on your career decisions. You need to start as high as possible and get as high as possible pay raises, both at one company and in between jobs. Remember that you re the only one that cares about your salary. Your education should complement your career. You should always be taking some form of education whether it is in a traditional class or in a distance learning program.

Education, strategically taken, can help advance career or give you more career options. Your career path. If you don t plan strategically where you want to be in five years, you ll still end up somewhere in five years. Right? Better that your career path follows your career goals than somebody else s.

Interviewing shouldn t be all about what you want; who would want to hire somebody like that? But if your interviewer asks about your career plans, make sure you have something prepared to say. Don t let your interviewer decide your fate at your new company. Have a clear vision of where you want to be in five years and convey it to your interviewer. Then shut up and listen to what your interviewer has to say.***

The Pro-active Career

It's no secret that career job search times have changed. Especially in the 21st Century marketplace.

Just take a look at the dramatic changes that have occurred in the last few years:
1. Changing jobs every three years is no longer frowned upon.
2. Lifetime employment went out with the dinosaurs.
3. Corporate loyalty to workers in terms of job guarantees is dead.
4. Employees are now totally responsible for their own careers.

It was largely the corporations that ended the traditional employment contract in the late 80's and early 90's. Since the notion of "loyalty in exchange for lifetime employment" no longer made bottom line sense to many organizations, hundreds of thousands of workers lost their jobs.

So, the new 21st Century program is this:

Unless you become pro-active and self-reliant in your career you could be dead in the water.Because of the changes listed above, employers have changed too. Their expectations of job candidates has evolved as well. For example, if you're not prepared to demonstrate specifically how you can make a bottom-line contribution to the organization . . . you're out!

Or if you're unable to respond to tough questions about your background like a pro, you just lost out to someone who can. Or if you're counting on your resume to sell you to a prospective employer, you go to the end of the line! Because today's savvy job seeker knows that resumes to make hiring decisions . . . people do. And being able to assertively represent yourself in a face-to-face meeting is the only way to land a high-paying job.

That's why you need 21st Century tools and techniques . . . the kind that help you identify precisely who you should be talking to. And then shows you step-by-step how to convert that encounter into a job offer.

Times have changed. Have you changed with them?

Little Known Method of Successfully Getting Rid of Unwanted
by Emily Clark

Women don t want all that hair in places other than on their head! With either heredity or age, the ladies are bound to get a moustache on their upper lip and it s never ever welcomed. First there was shaving, and then came the plethora of creams, lotions and potions to remove hair, then there was waxing, and even electrolysis. Now gals, there s yet another method you may choose to rid that unwanted stache on your upper lip. It s called Threading.

Threading is done at salons or can also be done at home. The process removes the fine and fuzzy hair right from the root. If it sounds painful, consider the options. If you shave your lip, it ll come back stubbly, eventually like a man. What wants that? If you use a cream, you re subjecting yourself to chemical reactions and it doesn t rid the hair at the root, so it ll likely just grow back faster and thicker. If you ve ever had your lip waxed, ripping that sucker off hurts too. Not to mention the bright red upper lip for hours and the small beady blisters for a week. Ick. Ever try plucking your hairs out? Ouch is right! You could bleach that hair, but then you ll just have a lighter colored moustache. Every method has its drawbacks.

Many women say the best method of hair removal from the upper lip is threading. One of the benefits is that you don t have to wait for hair to grow a certain length. The concept is that you re going to get the hair twisted and spun into the thread and thusly yanking, gently yanking it off your face. It might be difficult for you to visualize the procedure, so you may want to have it done in a salon first if you re not getting the full gist of what needs to happen.

To start take about 24 inches of thread length. Yes, the sewing thread, any kind, nothing special so long as you use a good quality, strong thread. Take both ends and tie them, together in a knot. You ll have a circle of thread when you re done tying the ends together. Next hold the thread with both hands and wind them around (loop around) your hands about ten times. Then place the thread around the fingers of both hands. Push the part that is wound up towards one hand by widening the fingers of one hand and at the same time closing the fingers of the other hand. Use an alternating open/close motion with opposite hands.

By opening the fingers of the closed hand and closing the fingers of the other hand, you re pushing the wound portion in the other direction. It will take some practice. Keep pushing the wound up portion back and forth until you are able to push it back and forth easily. Once you have the hang of it, you might be ready to start practicing on a body part. Don t use the upper lip as a practice point. Try the leg or some other body part that is easily accessible.

Begin by placing the thread on the portion of your leg or elsewhere that you are going to first try. Place the wound part on one end of the hair, and the thread from the other side should be on both sides of the hair you want to remove. Next, move the wound portion to the other side, making sure that it catches the hair while moving. It will then lift the hair from the root as it moves back and forth.

After you ve practiced this method and are fairly comfortable with it, move onto your upper lip. It ll be quick and easy, taking only a couple of minutes every other day. How wonderful will it be to always have a hairless lip!

If all else fails, you may not be an expert threader, but you will at least know what someone is talking about next time they mention threading and they re not referring to cross-stitching!
