Everyone Deserves Happiness

Everyone Deserves Happiness
By Jeff H Grundy
Everyone deserves happiness; few claim to have it. There are a number of reasons why so many fall short of attaining the happiness that every person deserves. If you know what your own personal reason is, you are that much closer to solving the problem. For many of us it is simple a lack of self-motivation.

Although it may sound odd, the fact is that many people fail to attain happiness because they are not sure what the word means to them. As what "happiness" means to one person is not exactly the same as what it means to someone else, being aware of your own personal definition is essential. It is only common sense that you cannot have something if you do not know what you want-- you would not recognize it even if it were very close to you.

Another reason so many people will tell you that they do not have true happiness in their lives is because they base happiness on something external. These are the people who will say that a new job, a lovely vacation, a special partner, or more money will bring them happiness. While of course anyone would be delighted to have these things, they do not automatically mean happiness to the one who has them-- nor does it mean they cannot be happy without them. True, consistent happiness can only come from within oneself-- accepting and being contented with one's self and one's life as they are.

This does not mean you should not strive for more and better. It doesn't mean that if there is something you truly want, you should not reach for it or work for it. The other reason why many fail at attaining the happiness they want is that they are not self-motivated to reach for and work for the desires they have in life.

Not only does this complacency stand in the way of reaching one's goals and dreams, it also prevents full enjoyment of what one does attain. If you gain something through no actual effort of your own, it will always seem as if there is something missing. If, instead, your self-motivation is the factor which leads you to gain your desires through your own effort, you will appreciate them all the more.

Everyone deserves happiness in life. It is only human nature to want to be happy. As soon as you begin to see happiness as having its roots within you rather than from external sources, you will be that much closer to your goal. When you have the self-motivation to focus on what means the most to you in life, and begin to take the steps toward it, the happiness you deserve can be yours.

Consequences Motivate
By Steve Wickham
Why is it that when a woman visits the hairdresser she takes her handbag with her everywhere she goes? She's worried it will be stolen. She's exercised her forethought in an effort to stay anxiety free. In knowing where her handbag is at all times she doesn't need to entertain anxiety, because she knows implicitly the impact of stolen and misplaced valuables.

Consequences of bad things happening motivate us, but not so much the likelihood of their happening. Consequences challenge us to think differently because many things from a likelihood angle will probably never happen to us, whereas only one serious consequence can abruptly change everything.

From the consequence comes foresight of real pain, discomfort, inconvenience, and even the fear of death. When we think 'consequences' we imagine vividly what might occur. We begin to take things more seriously, and more urgent is our outlook.

What if we were replacing a high light bulb and we chose a sturdy ladder with which to aid us; the chances of falling are pretty remote. Sure, they're possible, but most would discount this and take the calculated risk. If we consider the impact of the potential consequences, however, we'll suddenly think twice. Did you know that sixty percent of fatalities from falls occurred from falls of five metres or less! We could also suffer permanently disabling spinal cord injuries, including the 'Superman' injury that Christopher Reeves sustained years ago.

And there's another dimension to the issue of consequences.

There's the principle of regret to consider. This is illustrated by the state we might one day find ourselves in when we could only wish for that 30 minutes back; 'let me go back just half an hour... I'd do it differently,' we might say. 'Too late,' says Wisdom in Proverbs 1. 'Come again another day.' (Proverbs 1:20-33).

Regret is a powerfully painful emotion. It might get better with time, but it's never really attenuated the way we would like. The consequences of our actions or potential actions should, in truth, weigh heavily on our minds, or at least heavy enough to knock some sense in there. This is the platform, now, for action.

It's the consequence, and not the likelihood of the accident occurring, that is most likely to motivate us to take the precautions we need to. There's not much closer we can come to a practical wisdom than this, for our physical survival can depend on it.

Maintain Your Motivation - Use These 4 Tips to Avoid Dream Thieves
By Anthony D Carter
Dream stealers come in all shapes sizes and colors. They could be your friend mother brother or sister. Do not let anyone drain your motivation. Here are four tips for protecting your self against dream thieves.

Dream big. Get a dream so big that you absolutely must have it. It should be so big that it motivates you to act. The thought of obtaining your dream should excite you. This excitement and expectation fuels your motivation.

Keep it to yourself. Protect your dream by keeping it to yourself until you have had some success and established positive momentum. You don't want other people trying to talk you out of your dream. You can also do without the ridicule in the early going. Some people like to tease others in order to make themselves feel better about their mediocrity.

Gravitate towards positive successful people. Find people who have experienced the success that you are striving for. It helps you mentally and emotionally when you can align yourself with someone who knows how to get where you want to go. They increase your belief by inspiring you. When you are inspired it is easy to remain motivated.

Believe in yourself. You must believe in yourself. Know that you can accomplish what you set out to achieve. The only one who can stop you is you. The two emotions that can take you down are fear and doubt. Build your belief so that these two emotions do not inhibit your action. The stronger your confidence is the easier it is to be motivated.

Drawing Upon the Well
By Paula Andrea Pyle
Interior Navigation

These days, it's all about learning how to navigate. It's not enough to map out where you want to go, or how you want to get there, but knowing how to activate individual appropriately devised honing tools for the journey will determine how much you will be able to enjoy the ride and appreciate the adventure. Honing devices include the ability to recognize and relate specific events, people, places, situations, and circumstances that carry significant messages in them {for you} that could be easily overlooked if YOU are not paying attention. These hidden messages usually remain obscured because they are often lost in the midst of what seems to be insignificant things. THINGS that would otherwise be labeled trivial or inconsequential.

For example: if you were to turn your head to your immediate left, (at this very moment) at about a 45 degree angle, and peer five feet away, what do you see? I mean, precisely, exactly, in a fully animated detailed description, what would you tell me was occupying that particular space? These THINGS, be they animate or inanimate are extremely important in the scope of your present mood and state of mind. Those THINGS hold immeasurable clues to your existence. BEFORE MY BRINGING YOUR ATTENTION TO THEM, they were simply standing as silent sentinels ready and available for observation but to no avail. Not only were you not aware of them but probably thought of them as meaningless. They were not then, nor are they now, meaningless and without contribution. Did you really think that the THINGS that populate your world have no baring in it? IF they were not relevant and meaningful to you and for you, THEY would not be there {wherever there is}accountable and visual . Up until this point, you had continually been surrounded by THINGS that seemed to have no particular relevance in your life. You erroneously believed that unless you had developed some sort of viable interactive relationship with "IT", the THING was simply unimportant, AS FAR AS YOU WERE CONCERNED. But, nothing could be further from the truth.

All THINGS constitute the fabric of your life without exception. Every...thing reflects and projects aspects of you! YOUR WORLD, YOUR CAREER, YOUR ROMANCE, YOUR DESIRES, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR SPIRITUALITY, YOUR FINANCES, YOUR HEALTH, YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR TALENTS AND ABILITIES, YOUR DEATH, YOUR FEARS AND OBSESSIONS, YOUR GOALS AND AMBITIONS, YOUR REPUTATION, YOUR LESSONS, YOUR PAIN, and YOUR PURPOSE. No more; no less. IF you see it, it means SOMETHING. That something has been drawn from the wellspring of your essential being! In other words, every single object, person, place or thing represents the whole of you! Alot of times, people walk around in a fog mumbling something about not understanding the purpose OR point of their lives. They may even go so far as to mouth the words, "I really don't know what I want." Or worse, complain and bemoan certain events that have occurred as if they were in some way unattached to the specific outcome. They spin tales in a manner to those who are not wise enough to recognize the sound of self-agrandisement, of PLAYING THE ROLE OF a totally unsuspecting bystander who had been taken advantage of and cast aside broken-hearted and dejected, in spite of the unceasing goodness that pervades their every cell. If one is so inclined to give them the time of day and inclination of energy, any number of parasitical emotions will continue to surface: resentment, anger, bitterness, jealousy, grief, tawdy gossip, and blame. Yes, the old, "somebody's done me SO wrong song" comes in loud and clear IF you, too, are in THAT same place with a mind ready to identify with your having been cheated on, lied to, or betrayed in some manner, in some way.

But, here's where having the proper navigational tools come into play. Navigation is all about knowing how to follow one's innate resonating program. A specifically indelibly imprinted tonal pattern was implanted within you, while you were in the womb; locked and encoded into your specific DNA, for your convenience and application. The key is to learn how to master the program. {To see/hear, relate, recognize and assign the various tones in proper order} What does that entail? Practice, of course. If you want to learn to play the piano, you must practice. But, even before practicing, you must become acquainted with the 88 keys.[How they blend together, how they respond singularly, how they work in harmony with other keys or how they scream dissonantly when combined with not so flattering ones.] Knowing what works and what doesn't is helpful when trying to compose a beautiful melody. Let's face it, in order to know anything, the THING must become so familiar. NOT SO FAMILIAR THAT YOU TAKE IT FOR GRANTED, MIND YOU BUTFamilair enough not to have to think about it.

You naturally resonate with it; it resonates with you. To do that, one must learn to pay attention. Paying attention means exactly what it implies. There is a price demanded. That price involves the exchange of one's conscious awareness in order to be given the insight necessary to recognize his/her personal honing device being activated. The musical honing device is constructed in such a way that it resonates at different decibels in different situations at different times. It's all a matter of becoming acutely aware of your surroundings at all times. {This means to fully incorporate and appreciate the face of the other human that is staring directly into your space, as well.} This deliberate act of becoming aware of one's total surroundings involves time, patience, effort and committed dedication to seeing and hearing what's standing directly in front, back, sideways, top, bottom, in between and all around you at all times. You must be willing to come to that place within yourself whereby you verbally make the agreement to receive all THINGS as not originating from the outside as you so feverishly want to maintain(without your intent, approval and invitation) but arising deep from within the well of your very own soul. These THINGS are the irrefutable evidence in personal conceptualized form for you to process and experience passionately and joyfully. With that being said, and considering the fact that all THINGS DO IN REALITY form our self-created world, it may be time to look into how something as simple as astrological influences may be charted and used as a viable means of understanding your diverse inner landscape. No doubt we are all deeply embedded in a journey of soul's delight. Some might even say we are on a 'ship in the desert'; others may say we're' flying on the wings of an Eagle' while on this sojourn through Earth. Either way, it's a comforting THING to realize that WE ARE in fact CARRYING OUR OWN brand of Oasis in order to access when we get tired, thirsty, disillusioned, scared, grumpy....
