Memory Exercises - Your Solution For a Photographic Memory
By Greg Frost
Having a photographic memory is not something you can actually be born with. Some of us have a photographic memory and some of us do not. This is where the basis of evolution and generation genetic information come into play and the strength of our memories are dependent on these and maybe several other factors. But of course, there is no limit to this fact, as we can gain a photographic memory or something very close to it without too much of a struggle.
Yes, there are many programmes out there that help you to gain a photographic memory, but before you whip out your credit card and purchase a DVD or audio tape, you need to try your hand at some simple memory exercises you can do on your own in the comfort of where ever you are right now to improve your memory and give you an almost perfect one. Before all this, let us look at the causes of memory loss, and there are many things to dissect and bring across to the table. As the memory capacity of one person differs as you go from individual to individual, the different factors that do cause memory loss will have different degrees of effect, but they effect them nonetheless. One of these is hypertension.
Another is excessive alcoholism, which contributes to the brain cell deaths that would already be naturally occurring within the cortex and the neurons of the brain. People with thyroid problems would also be prone to memory loss as those who are prone to depression and emotional problems. One of the biggest and most common contributing factor of memory loss is stress, and all of us, at any one point of our lives, would feel the heavy hand of stress upon our backs and our minds, so we need to be wary.
Now, we can discuss some of the memory exercises you can perform in your free time so that your memory will improve as time goes by. One of them is mental focus, and this can be achieved by breathing exercises that allow you to reduce the heartbeat and focus the mind. Once you are able to achieve this on a daily basis, your memory and thought processes will improve. Yoga is a good way to do this.
The other way is called repetition, in which you repeat some of the things that you are most prone to forget to yourself and you increase this list on a daily basis. Another thing you can do is associations. Making mental associations and imagery to the aspects of your life that you always forget can be some of the mental exercises that will release your memory from the trenches of forgetfulness and give you a much more photographic memory. These are some of the mental exercises you can do which might give you the solution to a photographic memory. Practice them every day and you might find yourself at the top of the memory game in no time at all.

How Old Would You Like to Be?
By Tim Connor
Are you preoccupied with your age or the passage of years? Do you constantly relate what you think, feel or do to your age and whether it's appropriate, right or necessary? Do you keep reminding yourself or others how old you are? Do you focus on how little time you have left or the time you have had? Do you live as if you are running out of time? I could go on with these types of questions but let me ask you one final one. Are you guilty of wondering what you will do with the time you have left?
I must admit that more often than I care to realize I have done all of the above and I have been asking myself a lot lately, why?
I don't care whether it's acting like a teenager when you are in your 80's, dating when you are in your 70's, running marathons when you are in your 60's, starting a new career when you are in your 50's, having kids when you are in your 40's or any activity that many in your age group would say is inappropriate given their mindset about how people are supposed to act when they reach a certain age.
I have watched little old ladies in Argentina walking down the city streets wearing mini-skirts and high heels. I have watched people in their 30's act as if they were too old for something, anything. I have observed people in their 80's and 90's live with passion and adventure and I have watched 20 year olds complain about pretty much everything.
Age is a mindset it is not the number of years you have been here. Are is ageless as long as you have an ageless mentality. Two of my favorite T-shirts that I have worn for years say - I refuse to grow up and the other one says - I am just getting warmed up. I get more comments from people when I wear these than any of my other unique shirts that I have accumulated during my world travels.
There is nothing wrong with dressing sassy when you are older. There is nothing wrong with acting like a youth when you are older. There is noting wrong with enjoying life the way you want to without being overly concerned with the opinions of others in your age group and what they will think or say.
I love to watch the elderly having fun and enjoying life to the fullest. I think it's sad how many people let their age dictate their behaviors and attitudes with more concern for others opinions than having fun and relishing each of life's precious moments.
So how old are you?
I was recently asked how old I was by a woman I had met after one of my presentations. So I asked her, how old do you think I am? No response? O.K. How old would you like me to be? Still no response? Can you imagine asking someone in their 90's, how young are you?

Super Simple Secrets to Stop the Self-Sabotage and Succeed
By Lori Mooney
We often struggle with our own success until we uncover the hidden reasons why we sabotage ourselves. Regular personal development programs and trainings do not help you uncover these hidden reasons. I have discovered five secrets that can help you to stop the self-sabotage and start showing success fast!
How often do you wonder why you do not seem to reach your goals and dreams? Do you always sabotage yourself on the way to success?
Here are five secrets that I have discovered that are not taught in regular personal development and training programs. Doing all five will make it much simpler for you to stop sabotaging and show success.
- SAFETY is the condition of feeling protected against the consequences of undesirable events. You must feel safe in order to have success. You must grow out of your current comfort zone. But first you must know what that is! What is your safety zone? Handle the issues in your life that make you feel unsafe or you will continue to self-sabotage. Be sure you feel safe both at work and at home and especially that you feel safe around the people you spend time with or you will continue to struggle.
- SECURITY is the amount of protection you feel against loss and danger. You must feel secure in order to stop sabotaging and succeed. You must feel secure against loss - of people, money and possessions. Change any parts of your life where you do not feel secure. Change jobs, living arrangements, and even relationships if necessary. Be sure you feel secure or you will continue to sabotage yourself.
- SURENESS relates to your self-confidence in your abilities, power and personal judgment. When you are not as successful as you want, it can be all but impossible to maintain your sureness. But sureness is a huge key to success. You must know that you will succeed when the time is right, beyond all doubt.
- STOMP OUT SELF-BLAME because it is not your fault and it never was! We have been convinced, most of us all of our lives, that we are not as successful as we want to be because we somehow are not good enough. We have been told that we do not try hard enough, that we are not motivated enough, are not smart enough, or dedicated enough, or that we procrastinate too much, and on and on. In reality, it is the hidden obstacles that we have had ever since we were born that are holding us back! Until someone helps you uncover these obstacles, it will be very difficult for you to succeed.
- SEEK THE RIGHT SOLUTIONS TO THE RIGHT PROBLEMS because if you are asking the wrong questions, the answers cannot possibly be right. Most of us have been trained to search for the wrong answers to the wrong questions. You must learn how to uncover and get rid of those hidden obstacles that have constantly held you back allowing you the best of success.
