Tertipu Iklan Lowongan Kerja

Tertipu Iklan Lowongan Kerja

The Path of Least Resistance

I spend a bit of time on airplanes. So, I was surprised by what I observed on a regional jet. Yes, it was holiday travel. Yes, the flight was overbooked. Yes, infrequent and tired travelers were creating challenges for the only stewardess. Still, she saw the small boy, no more than eight, seated in the exit row next to his grandfather. She chose to ignore him, wishing and hoping her safety message stating a person must be over fifteen to sit in the exit row would fix it. Maybe she didn't want the hassle of trying to reseat passengers on an already late flight. Maybe she was tired, too. Who knows?

What I do know is that despite the safety implications of her decision, she chose the path of least resistance that day. And she's not alone. Many people take that path at work. They choose the easier way rather than doing what needs to be done. But, the path of least resistance leads away from winning at working.

You'll be on that path if you turn a blind eye to something you know needs solving but you don't want to address it or "rock the boat;" or you let a mistake pass your desk for someone else to catch and fix because it's too complicated or time-consuming; or you ignore a difficult person or a recurring problem because you don't want to create unpleasantness or deal with conflict; or you pass off a poor performer to another department rather than face the difficult conversation; or you resolve the customer complaint without calling out or solving the bigger issues behind it.

In my thinking, that's the adult equivalent of my son, as a child, pretending he never noticed the toilet paper roll needed replacing. He'd leave a sheet or two on the cardboard tube so he didn't have to be the one to do anything about it. Of course no one in the house was fooled. No one at work is either.

In twenty years of management, I've learned that the difference between doing the right thing and the easy thing significantly differentiates people's performance. We can debate what the right thing to do is at any given time. Sometimes, it might be choosing the more difficult, challenging, time-consuming path or the one that comes with more risk. But like my son and that stewardess, I think most of us know what the right thing is most of the time, and we know when we've chosen the easier way.

In Lee Ann Womack's country hit, "I Hope You Dance," there's a great line that applies as much to work as it does to life: "I hope you'll never fear those mountains in the distance; Never settle for the path of least resistance." You see, if you want to be winning at working, you can't fear the mountains of change, discomfort, conflict, unpleasantness, hard work, or difficult choices. ***

Tips Menjadi Rekan Kerja Yang Baik

Tips Menjadi Rekan Kerja Yang Baik

Top 5 FAQs about Job Hunting Online

Looking for work online is an efficient way to search but it's not always the perfect solution to find a job. Chris Russell, President & Founder of the local job site FairfieldCountyJobs.com discusses the most commonly asked questions he hears from jobseekers.

1. I submitted my resume online but how do I know it was received?
Chances are you won't. This is perhaps the biggest gripe jobseekers have today about applying online. If a person emails his/her resume the company might have an email auto responder set up to reply back that it was received. But the majority of companies fail to do this. In cases like this it's important to try and follow up with the company if possible.

2. If the date posted on a job is more than a few weeks old should I still apply for it?
Absolutely yes! There is no way to tell if the job has been filled. Chances are it still is open because hiring cycles can drag out for weeks as busy recruiters sift through resume piles and manage a variety of other tasks. When in doubt, always apply.

3. Why do companies post a "confidential" ad?
They do this for a number of reasons the 2 main ones being that they don't want their current employees to know they are looking for someone who might replace them or they don't want to let other companies know they are hiring for a certain position for competitive reasons.

4. How do I convert my resume from a Word document (.doc) to a text file (.txt)?
If you have a resume designed in Microsoft Word, Choose "Save As" from the File Menu. Choose "Text Only with Line Breaks" in the dialog box menu. Format your text version to your liking. Much of your existing formatting will be lost but you can use symbols like ***** or -------- to provide lines and bullets.

5. I can't find any contact information other than an email address, what do I do?
Visit the company's website to find an address or fax number. You could also try calling them and asking the receptionist for a fax number to the human resources department. ***

A NEW OUTLOOK ON LIFE

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be at the start of a new era? It s a thrilling feeling of achievement, and a great confidence booster as well. As a mom of two, I ve had to share my life between my family and my job in a school. I ve spent long days and nights caring for the others, until, one day after years, I came upon my son s newly purchased computer.

Since then I ve been a computer addict -(mind you, I didn t even know how to turn it on at first!)- and I finally got started in my new online career: Book Reviewing! It had never occurred to me that I could get all that information from the web; after all, my son and daughter used it only for playing games for hours on end. But it proved to be a very useful tool to me, and to my kids in the long run.

At first , everyone in the family teased me watching me try to learn all the nuts and bolts of this device.
It s for the kids, my husband would say. You will only get frustrated and tired. It s not for you, at your age!
However, I was not discouraged! What s wrong with my age? Being in my forties is not a problem . I can still learn a lot ! I would reply. And I was right. After a couple of months of perseverance , I started feeling confident enough to handle it , and now, my kids started asking me to explain to them a couple of tech things! Imagine that!

I still can t believe it I ve learned so many things all on my own. Of course , I was always trying to find some spare time and that was the hardest part of it but in the end I followed a specific timetable that proved to be a very good idea. I had also to buy a book about the Internet , a mini guide , but the rest of the information was available online. Apart from getting educated in this field, I ve also made some great new friends all over the world.

Book reviewing was an unexpected activity I came across while reading a newsletter online. Since I m an avid reader , I took to it at once. Now, I review print books, e-books, I maintain my own site online and I send articles to various sites all over the world. Freelancing online is a great way to reach people and places everywhere on the planet. Coming back to book reviewing, I find it great as I get a lot of free copies from authors and companies from all over the world, and I add them to my bookshelf. Reviewing other people s books has also helped me to learn how to write my own book . I have even learnt how to make a PDF book, an electronic book . I would like to share some information with you in case you are interested in becoming a book reviewer.

But you may wish to ask : Why become a reviewer?
There are several reasons for that choice. First, because you love books. If you are also an avid reader, you just can t miss this chance !
Second, you love writing. This is imperative. If you don t love writing, forget all about it.
Next, you want to get free copies and add them to your shelf. By all means , go ahead.
Moreover, you can have the latest releases. If this sounds exciting to you, then this activity it s the ideal one for you. If you take to all of the above, you just can t afford to miss the opportunity to become a reviewer. Yet, there may be another problem: you doubt your abilities to write a good review. You feel you need some guidance on how to write a critique. There is an easy solution:

Read other people s reviews.
I ve done that and it worked! So, you can do it too. I learnt all about reviewing online , all on my own. You only have to be patient and study as many different reviews as possible. Here comes another question:

But where can I find reviews to read?

Practically, everywhere. But if you would like to find some specific sites that display reviews online you can visit my site at http://lianametal.tripod.com and click on the Reviews section. There you will find a lot of URLs of sites that I send my work to. Click on each one of them and read the reviews. You can read my reviews, and other people s reviews. Watch the style and the language . See what comes first and what is next. The more you read , the more you learn.

If you visit my site , you will see an e books link on the home page. If you click on it, you will find another site dedicated to e books. There you will find my e book titled Writing Basics, which includes a lot of information on reviewing. To sum up, if I ve done it, you can do it too! And it s never too late to learn something new and exciting that will help you change your outlook on life! I am always searching the net for something new that will add some spice to my life. After all, I have nothing to lose, only to gain!

What about you?
If you feel like I do, start now. Don t miss the thrill and fun of it!
And Good Luck!

Penganggur Mencapai 157 Ribu Orang

Penganggur Mencapai 157 Ribu Orang

People Skills and Empathy In Your Home Based Business Career

I am on my computer for about 6 hours a day. I am committed to my internet marketing business even though this is not my full time career. I love to write about different subjects and I love learning new ideas regarding internet marketing on a daily basis. Even though I work from home, however, I still need to work on my interpersonal skills (also known as people skills). When you own an internet marketing business you will be doing a lot of business via email, im, and through article and blog marketing.

However, we must not forget that we still have to connect with people via the telephone or perhaps in person. We must not forget these skills if we really want to succeed in our home based business and make money online. If we do not continually polish these skills, we will get rusty and may lose our ability to effectively communicate with others. As a piano teacher, prior therapist, and internet marketer and coach for newbies, I have to work with people a lot. One of the ways that I keep my people skills polished is that I focus on what the other person needs. I try to listen to it, hear it, and empathize and understand their needs the best that I can.

When you empathize with another person, you try to put yourself in his or her shoes. This is an effective technique at working with others because you will try to see the world the best that you can from his or her perspective. Without empathy for another person, it is very hard to connect in a truly effective way. Empathy is one part of effective people skills and it does not hurt to be empathic in other areas of your life as well.

Sometimes we can forget to be empathic and we focus solely on ourselves and what we need. When we focus on the needs of others we will be surprised that what comes back to us can be multiplied in many ways! ***

How Can We Make Our Home Based Internet Marketing Career Easier?

Do you feel burnt out as you work from home in your efforts to make money online? If you do, I can understand why. If you are selling a wealth program or a direct sales program you will most likely need to talk to someone on the phone. Actually, you will most likely need to talk to many people on the phone. As we know this is all a numbers game, and the more people we speak to, the greater the chance for success. There is one problem with this, however that I would like to discuss.

How can we possibly talk to many people on the phone in a given day and actually market our program as well? The answer is .. that we cannot. Internet marketing is what it is. Internet marketing is a full time job and a job that requires tremendous effort, thought, and planning. It also requires a well thought out strategy which is extremely time consuming to say the least. As a part time piano teacher and part time internet coach and mentor for newbies, I know that I cannot possibly sell and market my programs at the same time. Plain and simple.. there is just not enough time in the day to do both.

This is where delegation of responsibility comes into play. An example of this would be to hire someone to do your craigslist posting. You can find a reputable outsourcing company or find and hire someone from the local area. Another area of delegation is in the area of sales. If you give a sales account executive a nice commissions, and treat him or her well, you will not have to spent 16 hours of your waking hours working in your online home based internet marketing business. In my opinion, this is one of the most important aspects of delegation as it has worked quite well for me.

Delegation is the key to running a successful online internet business and maintain your sanity at the same time. Work from home should be a freeing, liberation, empowering experience... not a prison. Michelle Tukachinsky ***

How To Be More Productive In Your Online Marketing Business Career

I am writing this article to help others as well as help myself work more productively online. I find that I spend several hours per day online in my home based internet business. A lot of the time I spend online, however, is wasted uproductively and this is truly valuable time we are talking about. I find that at the end of my workday that I have not truly accomplished what I had set out to do earlier in the day.

How can we work online in a more productive way throughout our workday? Here are some suggestions.

1. Write down a list at the beginning of your workday on what you would like to accomplish during your workday. Prioritize those tasks that MUST get done vs. those tasks which you would like to get done.

2. Make sure that you set aside and devote a certain amount of time to these tasks. Do not give yourself too much time for each task because it will leave you open for wasting some of that time on that which is counterproductive.

3. Research what works for you in your type of business. You may spend several hours utilizing safelists that nobody reads and you may waste your precious time earning credits for these lists by spending time reading. I have not found utilizing safe lists as time well spent.

4. Schedule in frequent small breaks so that your mental energy is able to get replenished. Spending hours in front of the computer without a break is going to exhaust you and will most certainly cut down on your productivity.

5. Lastly, reward yourself for all of your efforts by having some fun online doing something totally unrelated to your business. ***

"Giving Up" vs. "Failure" In Your Internet Marketing Career

I never really liked the word "failure". The word "failure".. plain and simple denotes failure. There is nothing that sounds nice about the word "failure". It is not an attractive word and when we hear it, there is not much we can say to refute its' implications. It is said that 95 percent of online internet businesses will fail. Ironically, I had heard this statistic after I purchased both of my home based businesses. It did not give me a very hopeful feeling to say the least, and I actually questioned what I had actually gotten myself into.

I always wondered if these statistics were cited to sell programs and products. Negative advertising does work, because people are actually driven by fear. These statistics can also be a catalyst for the online internet newbie to give up prematurely before actually giving his or her program a chance to be successful. Does "giving up" imply failure or does "giving up" have its' own meaning unto itself. "Giving up" is definitely related to failure in every sense of the word. I myself, however, would like to change the statistic above to this. " A large percentage of the 95 percent online internet marketing failure rate is a result of "giving up" prematurely, before giving their program a chance to work".

I truly believe that many of us would not give up so fast if we had program sponsors that actually tried to help us get started after they took are money with their "sincere" sales pitch. I have not had the greatest experience myself in this area myself, and I did struggle quite a bit at first. I truly believe in the idea of online business coaching to help the newbie internet marketer get started as it will stop these "failures" before it is too late.

Feeling Like "Throwing In The Towel" In My Online Marketing Career

U
sually I write an article when I have a strong need to express my thoughts and feelings. Today is actually one of those days. I am feeling a little bit burnt out today in this very competitive, challenging, but exciting business. This is actually a day that I feel like "throwing in the towel" and walking away from this business forever. I am tired of posting so many ads, answering emails, and deleting junk mail. I am tired of talking to tire kickers who really never had any intention of getting involved in a home based business. I am just plain tired. I have been in my online internet marketing business for approximately 6 weeks now. I call myself an experienced newbie... since this is wnat I am.

My learning curve is very high and very strong because of the time I spent researching, reading, posting, and writing in my online business. I have learned so much... and yet so little in a short time. I say this because there is SO much to learn in online internet marketing. This may actually be part of the reason why I feel discouraged right now. There is so much information that we have to take in, process, and explore and there is just not enough time in the day to do all of these things. Now when I say I feel like "giving up" I do not mean that I "will give up".

I have to acknowledge these feelings strongly and take the feelings very seriously as well. My mind and body are telling me that I need to TAKE A BREAK! If I do not take a break I will become severely burnt out.. and may actually give this up for good. I do not want to do that because I have invested so much time, money, and creativity. I also actually enjoy this profession when I am not doing it ALL THE TIME. When I mention "ALL THE TIME" I actually mean that when I am not teaching piano (that is my day job) I am actually on the computer working in my online business.

I had written a previous article about my life getting out of balance since I began to work from home in this internet business. It is still out of balance and it does have to change. My eating habits have improved, however, my exercise program is just awful. If I could give any advice to any internet marketer (experienced or newbie) it would be to walk away and take a very long break. I am going away for two days tomorrow and I will not bring my computer. I will practice what I preach and I know that I will come back to my online business refreshed and ready to make some awesome money online! A Surprise Job Opportunity Resource for 2006!

Remember the old days when you turned to a temp agency as a last resort? Something to fill in your time while you explore other options. Or maybe desperation move to accept a lower level job to acquire much-needed cash. Well, times have changed. And you should count on temp agencies as a major stepping stone to permanent skilled and high level employment!

The trend toward skilled temporary labor is becoming more the rule than the exception. Always looking for ways to cut costs, economically-minded companies use temporary employment services to reduce the rising cost of supporting full-time salaries. Often, companies are outsourcing entire departments using temporary workers to contrl operating costs and accelerate their business on an as-needed basis. They're looking for highly trained and educated temporary personnel to replace full-time positions not essential to the basic operations of the company.

These days, the temporary employee needs to possess a multiplicity of talents that go way beyond typing and filing. For example, at the top of most priority lists are workers who are knowledgeable and literate in a variety of computer programs, notably Microsoft Office, to compete for standard positions. And temp opportunities frequently include management level positions.

What does this mean to you if you're in the job market? Three objectives come to mind.

1. Temp agencies afford you employment to keep a cash flow while you're exploring other full-time options.
2. But these jobs are also a great way of getting your foot in the door of organizations you'd love to go to work for.
3. From management's side, it gives the company an opportunity to observe your professionalism. These temporary situations frequently turn into job offers for full-time employment.

When you're job searching, it's extremely important to explore all your options. Because of the tremendous diversity of opportunities and corporate needs it's difficult to predict where the best job is lying in wait for you. Temporary agencies offer a quick and lucrative way to get your feet wet. They definitely belong in the list of job opportunity resources you want to explore. ***

Belajar Mandiri di Mandiga

Belajar Mandiri di Mandiga
Bel berbunyi. Anak-anak keluar kelas, langsung menuju dapur.

Interviews

- Preparing for Interview You have made a successful application and now you are rewarded by getting an interview. It would be a shame to blow it all by failing to take the same care and attention at the interview. It's true to say that the vast majority of interviewers are not trained and make many mistakes themselves, but that is not a reason to make them yourself.

Lets have a look at common mistakes so that you can avoid them.

- Arriving late. - Being dressed incorrectly. - Taking unnecessary hand luggage with you. - Poor greeting. - Poor body language/Nervous mannerisms

* Arriving Late You should aim to arrive 10 - 20 minutes early for your interview. Depending on the size of the building you may find that locating the interview are is not a simple task and you should ensure that you have enough time in hand to avoid a late arrival.

If the company is in a location that you are not familiar with you would take time to plan your route and allow for unexpected delays, so why should you act differently just because the interview is somewhere you know? Some of the external events that may make you late are; late public transport, unable to locate parking space, no change for a pay and display car park, unable to locate building.

All of these are genuine reasons to be late, but at the end of the day, they are all avoidable.

Take time to find out about the location of the building and local parking, if the company is a large phoning them will result in you getting the switch board, these people know the area, there is nothing wrong with asking them for advice about local parking. If the company is a one man band then use your initiative, check maps, local tourist information offices etc.

* Looking Good Most people are unsure how to dress for an interview. Lets face it, if you are going for an interview to be a garage mechanic then a suit probably isn't suitable, but how do you know what to wear?

As a rule of thumb, think about what you would wear if you were working there already, no smarten up a bit. If you would normally wear trousers/skirt and a shirt/blouse then by adding a jacket and tie you have smartened up.

If you would normally wear jeans and a T-shirt or polo shirt then you should wear trousers and a shirt and tie, no need for a jacket. Dressing down at the interview is easier than going home to get changed. That is to say that if you get to the interview and you are wearing a jacket but non of the interviews is wearing one and you feel uncomfortable, then as you take a seat as if you can remove your jacket.

I'm sure you get the idea.

* Luggage Taking unnecessary hand luggage with you. Some people take a brief case to interview.

Why?
It may be an idea to take a copy of your resume with you along with the letter inviting you to interview. If you applied by application form and you followed my guide to application forms then you might want to take your draft copy of the form. Take these in an A4 envelope or in an A4 folder.

Why take them? Because if this is a small or badly organised company they may have mislaid them, being able to offer a copy will allow them to get the most out of the interview and for you to look professional in your approach.

This is only a suggestion and will not usually be required, so why take anything?
You will have to decide, if you are going to take anything in to the interview, but as you can see from the examples above, there is little point in taking anything. As someone trained in interview technique I can tell you that it is noticeable when a potential employee arrives with a brief case and never has to open it in an interview. In fact it has been suggested that there are sandwiches and a flask in there in case the applicant got stuck in a lift!

* Avoid a poor greeting. This is a big subject and related to Body Language (details below).

When you greet someone you should ensure that you do the following things:

1) Look the person in the eye.
2) Smile at them.
3) Shake their hand.
4) Make sure you introduce yourself and remember the name they provide you with in return.
5) When you are offered a seat, if possible let your interviewer take their seat first.

* Poor Body Language/Nervous Mannerisms. Body Language is a big subject but it is worth reading about. I can't cover the subject here but visit http://911resume.com and have a look at our current recommendations.

* Focus The rest of the interview is a case of presenting a positive image of yourself and everything you have done in your working life.

Avoid speaking in a negative way about previous employers to your prospective new employers. After all, if you speak negatively of one employer what is going through the mind of your possible new employer? An interview should be a friendly conversation about work experience, a poor interviewer will sometimes believe that showing you around is an interview, it's not. If you are faced with this sort of interview, take the opportunity to point out your familiarity with the environment by relating it to your past work experience.

For example, if you are shown a piece of software that this company uses and your previous company used a similar but not identical package, then you should discuss it briefly and explain how familiar you are with this sort of software.

* Closing the deal At the end of the interview, take time to thank the interviewer for their time, tell them how interested you are in their company and tell them you will look forward to hearing from them.

Again, keep eye contact and smile, while you are doing this, shake hands and leave. Remember that until you are out of sight of the building you could be watched and therefore you are under scrutiny.
Good luck, I'm sure that the job is yours already, the company just doesn't know it yet! ***

The Ideal Resume

W
hen one goes for an interview, the potential employer has no idea of who the applicant is. In some cases, the person applied to the ad while others used a headhunter or job site on the internet and matched their credentials for the position. The first impression employers always look at is one's resume. Given the many that apply, this usually takes about 30 seconds and so with the limited words, one must be sure that the resume is well written and grammatically correct.

The resume must say almost everything about the person. This should always start with pertinent information such as the person's name, age, address, contact number and social security number. The details here are needed so if one is considered to be a potential employer, it will be easy for the company to get in touch with the applicant and be scheduled for an interview. Next is the career objective which is the reason why the applicant wants to apply for the position. By putting a strong goal in mind and not a general one, the employer will see that this person has a direction which is why that person wants to work for the company.

The next section should include the relevant skills and knowledge one has had in the current and previous jobs as well as highlighting one's major accomplishments. By putting in detail the things one has done in that position and experiences learned from it, that information is already basis for the employer to see the potential the applicant has for that position. It shows the qualities one possesses and the benefits one can contribute to the further growth of the company.

After that, the resume should show one's educational background. Some companies prefer someone with a degree in a certain field, a licensed professional to do the job or one who possesses a master's degree. By showing one's credentials, it is a good indicator of the type of training one has possessed in school and the accomplishments one has achieved in the course of one's career.

The latter section should provide details such as hobbies, interests and character references. Employers look at potential applicants who not only have the qualifications for the job but also those who also those who are well rounded. Being active in a certain organization and be seen as a leader in a group shows one's social skills with others. Character references do the same and give people an idea how one performed working with that person. There is no ideal resume. It depends on the job. It is an important step one must pass before being called for that first interview. ***

Succeeding at the Interview

In order to get the job, you have to show up as enthusiastic, knowledgeable and "right" for the position. There are ways you can assure this. The tips below are just a few things to remember when you are in the interview setting. Your job in the interview is to make the hiring manager like you well enough to want to hire you over all the other qualified candidates. Since you will be "liked" within the first five minutes of the interview, be very careful at that first impression. Are you dressed modestly and appropriately? Ladies, did you leave the cleavage-showing sweater at home and wear a pretty blouse that flatters you but is not too revealing? Is your skirt at an appropriate length? Gentlemen, did you show up in a jacket and tie? Are your shoes shined?

While you want to know about the company you are applying to, don't waste the interviewer's time by trying to demonstrate that you have studied the company. Let that come out more naturally as you answer the questions that the interviewer wants to ask. Be very careful that you take your lead from the interviewer. You don't want to direct this interview, but you DO want to be responsive to the interviewer. ***

Crucial research to catapult your interview performance and your

Millions of dollars are spent annually on marketing research by savvy companies aiming to maximize their marketing dollars when showcasing their products and services to their prospective clients. They recognize that to capture the attention of a potential customer and successfully elicit a subsequent purchase, their wares must be targeted specifically to their clients needs. Unprepared companies that lack thought and consideration in their marketing research and going in blindly with their promotions are often left feeling disappointed at the lack of response their advertising campaigns receive.

When it comes to your job search and advertising campaign, which company are you most like? Do you carefully plan and perform extensive research of your potential buyer enabling you to align your experience with their needs, or do you just go in blindly? Strategic research and revealing the needs of your potential buyer is also crucial for a job seeker. Just like the company not paying much attention to their clients needs, if the company s needs are neglected by the job seeker, they too may be setting themselves up for disappointment.

Unfortunately this is one area that job seekers often fail to do, or fail to do well. So important is this process in your job search and interview preparation that our e-book Ace that Interview! Cutting-edge interviewing techniques EXPOSED!dedicates an entire segment to this strategy. If you are not currently performing any real research and are not convinced this process is vital to your job search and interview campaign, here are a few of the key reasons why you should.

Researching a company and job requirements will allow you to:

1.Prepare responses with relevant examples pertinent to the job s requirements avoiding elimination as you will be positioning yourself as a serious contender for the role;

2.Demonstrate a fit with the company culture;

3.Strengthen your understanding of the company s structure;

4.Establish whether or not you believe this position and organization is a good fit for you, to prevent a possible fallout down the track were you to accept the role only to realize that it was not as expected.

Your research should endeavour to pinpoint:

1.The company s products and services;
2.The company s target market;
3.The company s competitors;
4.The interviewer and their role within the company. [If you gained this interview opportunity through one of your network contacts, you may be fortunate enough to gain inside information as to characteristics, mannerisms and communication style of the interviewer];
5.Special projects the company is working on (that perhaps you may have been involved in during previous employment);
6.Whether the organization is a large or small enterprise which can impact on salary negotiation. Large and longer established companies could have a larger revenue base and may be able to offer a larger salary base compared to a smaller/start-up organization;
7.What structure the interview will follow. Whether it will be a panel (who is sitting on the panel); a group panel, involving psychological assessments etc;
8.Allows you to develop powerful questions to ask the interviewer.

To begin your research regime you can try the following resources:

- Company website

- Advertising brochures and other promotional material

- Newspaper articles, professional journals

- Your contacts that may have dealt with, or are dealing with the company including suppliers, customers, existing/former staff

- Business Review Websites

- Company Research Websites, and the list goes on

The information you compile will assist you in preparing relevant situations from your work experience, qualified with past performance and examples. This information should be strategically aligned to the needs of the organization, thus positioning you as the best candidate for the job. ***

Bersama Membangun Entrepreneurship

Bersama Membangun Lowongan Entrepreneurship

Misalnya dunia usaha (korporat). Mereka melakukan pelatihan wirausaha, pembinaan, membuka lowongan peluang usaha, membantu permodalan, hingga membantu pemasaran dalam bentu program corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The "Low-Down" on Team Development, Part II

In last month's artic le we looked at the four basic adverse reactions to people performing together. The psychological classifications we looked at are called: mobs, gangs, committees and groups. We learned that in any of these adverse groupings people may appear to function well, but as compared to an interdependent team they are like an eight cylinder engine firing on only two or three cylinders. With striking predictability, a group of individuals progress through a developmental process while maturing as an interdependent team. Dr. Bruce W. Tuckman first described this process over 40 years ago, and even today his model is the best method of describing and documenting team maturation. One of the most important team leader responsibilities is to facilitate and guide the team through this process by being aware of the symptoms and reactions of each of the four team developmental stages.

Stage One.
In Stage 1, personal relations are characterized by feelings of dependency, and the primary task functions concern being oriented to the team's purpose. In the beginning of a team's life, individual members depend on the leader to provide all structure: they want the leader to set ground rules, establish the agenda, and to do all the leading. Team members expect an explanation of the issues or problems to be explored. The team's purpose itself has to be discussed so there can be a common understanding of what the team has been organized to do. Common behaviors at this point include questioning why are we here, what are we supposed to do, and what are our goals.

Stage Two.
Stage 2 is characterized by conflict in the personal relations dimension and a need to be organized in the task-functions dimension. Interpersonal conflict (differences of opinion) inevitably ensues as a part of small group interaction. It may be that the conflict remains hidden, but it is there nonetheless. We bring to team activity a lot of our own unresolved conflicts with regard to authority, dependency, rules, roles, agenda, and we experience interpersonal conflict as we organize to get work done.
Common questions in stage two include: who will be responsible for what; what are the work rules; what are the limits; what are the rewards; what are the criteria. The variety of organizational concerns that emerge reflect interpersonal conflict over leadership, structure, power, and authority.

Stage Three.
Personal relations in Stage 3 are marked by cohesion and group identification, and the major task function is communication. In Stage 3 team members begin to experience a sense of groupings, a feeling of catharsis at having resolved interpersonal conflict and of having "gotten together." They begin sharing ideas, feelings, giving feedback to each other, soliciting feedback, exploring actions related to the task, and sharing information. This becomes a period during which people feel good about what is going on; they feel good about being a part of the team, and there is an emerging openness with regard to the task. Sometimes during Stage 3 there can be a brief abandonment of the task and a period of play that is an enjoyment of the cohesion that is being experienced.
The team leader can employ two methods of leading a Stage 3 team into Stage 4. The first is to identify for the team a significant "pinch or hurt" for the organization that needs to be resolved. The second method is to identify a "threat" to the organization. When a Stage 3 team clearly sees a pinch or hurt, or a threat, it will leap into Stage 4 to solve the problem. Afterward, it may revert back to Stage 3 once again until a new threat is uncovered.

Stage Four.
Stage 4 is marked by interdependence on the personal relations dimension and problem solving on the task-functions dimension. Interdependence means that team members have resolved their conflicts and have developed an effective relationship with other team members. They can work in sub-groups, or as a total team: it makes no difference. The team becomes driven toward achieving its goal, but has equal concern for the well being of its members. Members are both highly task-oriented and highly people-oriented.
The activities are marked by both collaboration and functional competition. The team's tasks are well defined, there is high commitment to common activity, and there is support for experimentation with solving problems.

Dr. Tuckman's model illustrates how people working together can progress through the four stages of team development. In Stage 1 people commonly ask "why" questions; in Stage 2 they ask "what" questions; in Stage 3 it's common for the team to be fairly noisy as they communicate; and in Stage 4 a team will literally insist on solving problems. Does Your Resume Have What It Takes To Survive The First Cut

To be a success, your resume must have sufficient "scan appeal" to pass a first cut that initial stage when a busy employer, faced with a stack of resumes, scans each one for about 30 to 60 seconds and rejects most. What can you do to make sure that your resume survives the first cut?

For answers, consider the following analysis of a typical 30-second scan. Then learn how to evaluate your own resume for scan appeal.

The first 5 seconds
Resume writers spend most of their time thinking about wording. Yet, it is the immediate visual impact of your resume that first influences how the employer feels about hiring you. Without consciously thinking about it, your reader "decides" within seconds whether your resume is visually pleasing. Consider your own resume from the 5-second perspective Is there a good balance of text and white space? Is the resume monotonous, or does it use a pleasing variety of visual elements (heading sizes, bold, italic, bullets, etc.)?

Your reader also develops an immediate feel for whether your resume will be easy to read. Make sure that your resume invites the reader to scan by using a clear and consistent format, and by highlighting key points in bulleted lists. Important information should never be presented in long, dense paragraphs.

The next 10 seconds
After taking in your resume's visual qualities, the employer's eye focuses on the top half of the first page. He or she will be trying to get a quick overview of who you are and what you can do. Much like the computers at employment web sites, the employer will scan quickly for information that suggests you are a good match for the job at hand. To take full advantage of these 10 seconds, most resumes should start with a headline and a summary section. The headline (typically stating an "objective") declares in one or two lines the essence of who you are and what you are seeking.

The summary section (often titled " Summary of Qualifications" or "Personal Profile") uses bullets and succinct wording to highlight what is likely to most intrigue the employer. Before writing this section, make a list of the 5 to 10 criteria that are most likely to guide the employer's choice then summarize your qualifications in a way that speaks directly to the employer's interests.

The last 15 seconds
If your resume is visually pleasing and starts with an effective summary, your reader will naturally want to scan the rest of it. At this point, the employer will look for: confirmation that you meet the job's requirements, supporting evidence for your summary section, and any intriguing details that add to the picture of what you would be like to work with.

Your job is to consider where the reader's eye is most likely to be drawn, and use these places to your advantage. They include: section headings, subheadings, the first sentence or two immediately under headings, position titles, bulleted lists (especially the top one or two items), words in bold, words in italic, and numerals (i.e. numbers that are not spelled out). Consider all of these to be tools at your disposal when creating scan appeal. Is there an accomplishment, for example, that you want to highlight? Try putting it at the top of a bulleted list and including one or two numerals (such as "reduced costs by 10%" or "supervised a staff of 12"). If appropriate, use some bold or italic either within the item or in the wording that introduces it.

Testing for Scan Appeal
Your resume should be tested for scan appeal before any copies go out. You must be able to answer two questions Given just 30 seconds to convince the employer to consider you, what must you bring to his or her attention? And, what does your resume actually convey in a 30-second scan?

To conduct a preliminary test yourself, review your employment strategy i.e. list the top five things you think are most important for the employer to know about you. Then look at the parts of your resume most likely to be seen in a scan, and make sure each item has been highlighted in some way. For an even more telling test, give your resume to several people who don't know you well, and time them as they scan it for 30 seconds. When they are done, have them set the resume aside and jot down everything they remember. Would the information they noticed and remembered provide compelling reasons for the employer to hire you? If the answer is yes, your resume has excellent scan appeal. ***
